Wesley Heights.
Summary:
Reporting to the Chef Manager, the Dining Room Manager facilitates all aspects of the dining experience at Wesley Heights to ensure that residents and guests have a pleasant and memorable dining experience.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Minimum of 2 years serving and(or) management experience in assisted living, skilled nursing or restaurant.
Professional, friendly, open minded, and punctual.
Flexible availability.
40 hours a week.
(Able to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, blizzards) Shift is 11am-7pm Enthusiasm for culture change and a drive to provide exceptional service.
Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours; bend, push, pull; lift 30 lbs.
Must have efficient computer skills including Word, Excel, etc.
Professional appearance appropriate for a fine dining atmosphere.
SERV safe Certification preferred.
Preferred Skills The Wesley Heights Dining Team is looking for someone to facilitate the dining experience in all aspects including but not limited to; Can educate the staff on proper serving techniques and dining etiquette.
Basic awareness of local health department standards as well as what makes a dignified dining experience in senior living.
The ability to triage issues with customers as they arise and finding appropriate solutions.
Must be able to work at a pace appropriate for the environment in which the residents dine while maintaining attention to detail; ability to multi- task.
Must have a general food service knowledge, good supervisory and communication skills and the ability to promote our department.

Must be able to discipline staff and handle department issues while maintaining professional relationships.
Familiarity with HR functions and/or hiring software, interviewing skills, etc.

Job Description/duties Anticipate guests needs and ensure that service meets/exceeds expectations to ensure a memorable and pleasant dining experience.
Maintain communication with and supports the Chef Manager's visions of the dining experience.
Inspect the dining room, table settings, chairs, floors, proper maintenance, cleanliness and safety.
Takes immediate action to correct any issues should they arise.
Manage guest reservations, tray service/charges, menu posting.
Receive and greets residents and staff, collaborating with nursing to provide beverage service for members of our lifestyle units.
Check tables throughout service times for resident satisfaction and resident complaints.
Coordinate the dining room staff and maintain uniform service standards.
Ensure side work is completed every day and dining room supplies are stocked.
Reports any supply shortages to the Chef Manager.
Review daily specials, stations and other applicable announcements.
Train new-hires in service standards, department standards, and dining experience standards.
Train dining service staff on a continuous basis on trends in customer service.
Assist with dining room set up and break down.
Act as initial contact for disciplinary actions.
Assures that actions are consistent and accurate.
Provides detailed account of any disciplinary issues to Chef Manager.
Assist in hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling of all Dining Aides.
Review daily and weekly functions with Chef Manager & assures staffing patterns when necessary.
Lead to achieve desired results in high quality service and experience for guests.
Work with resident services coordinators to complete dining room seating arrangements.
Monitor residents who are aging in place for any significant changes and report them to nursing.
Collaborate with nursing to ensure that the patient census is updated daily and that staff is aware of diet changes and allergies.
Interview new residents and get them acclimated to our systems, making sure they understand the dining experience.
Be an ambassador for the UMH philosophy of relationship centered care and creatively deliver our mission daily to everyone you encounter.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
