Duties: Will be responsible for handling a full range of legal matters that arise in connection with the distribution of annuity products issued by company , in support of a business that is regularly ranked as one of the top firms in the industry for variable annuity sales in all channels: independent broker-dealer, wirehouse, banks and agencies. Responsibilities will be the provision of counsel to and representation of an affiliated broker-dealer that serves as principle underwriter for company's variable annuities and mutual funds offered through variable products. Will provide counsel and advice to various internal business units and management, as well as to other members of the Law Department. Providing thought leadership and support as a key member of the distribution legal team. Providing legal and regulatory advice and counsel to broker-dealer serving as principal underwriter and wholesaler of variable annuities and mutual funds. Drafting and negotiating agreements, including broker-dealer selling, marketing and services agreements. Providing legal and regulatory advice and counsel to company?s annuity business unit and related business groups in their capacity as issuer of variable annuities. Representing and counseling insurers and broker-dealers before Federal and State Regulators, and Self Regulatory Organizations. Coordinating with Compliance and Risk Management Departments to provide legal analysis and counsel in connection with the sale, distribution and wholesaling of variable annuities, and related products. Keeping management and other personnel up to date on pertinent legal and regulatory developments. Performing special projects as assigned.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
