D&B offers exciting career opportunities and we are currently hiring a SQL Database Programmer for our Shelton, CT location.
Specific responsibilities include:
Technical production and customized fulfillment of orders for customer requests within performance objectives and under acceptable productivity. Accurate and timely analysis of each order for specific requirements pertaining to Professional Services projects. This includes all of our products such as Database Services, Contract Data Leases, and E-marketing, as well as internal data compilation projects.
Perform database services on customer data in a MS SQL Server environment. Manipulate customer data using data cleanse, address certification, match, and merge/purge functions. Append data fields from MDRs extensive educational database. Perform ad-hoc queries and updates of customer data as requested.
Maintain the highest level of quality control in order to deliver an accurate product to our customers (internal and external). Communication with our Sales team on any questions, issues, and follow-up. High level of Multi-tasking across full product suite.
Ability to meet with customers in a sales or technical meeting to provide technical expertise and validate solutions vs. customer needs or expectations. Provide unique solutions which will increase sales potential to meet customer needs. Identify development needs for improved processing tools.
Assist with the analysis of historical transaction data. Identify trends in the data and assemble informed recommendations for solutions that would provide benefit to the customer.
Manage daily work flow of project assignments and identify projects that need to be reassigned to other team members to ensure timely and accurate product delivery. Support continual cross-train initiatives to keep team proficient at performing DBS and Email fulfillment processes to ensure we meet or exceed customer expectations.
As background, this candidate should also possess:
2 or 4 year college degree in computer science or data processing, or the equivalent in practical experience.
Must have experience in relational database packages such as MS SQL Server. Must have hands-on knowledge of the SQL language, possess the ability to code and test SQL queries. Must know how to create and maintain SQL databases, tables, and other SQL objects. Experience with Transact SQL, SSIS, or database administration functions a plus. Should have knowledge in MS SQL Server Management Studio and the MS Office Suite including MS Access and Excel.
Strong problem solving, analytical and time management skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively. Ability to change priorities within tight time frames and work with team members to shift priorities and share workload.
Must be able to communicate (oral and written) complex order specifications in layman terms and have experience in establishing project schedules that may cross-organizational boundaries.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
