Joining the Risk Management team provides a tremendous opportunity to learn about all areas of the Annuity business and other Risk Management teams throughout the Enterprise. You will be responsible for resolving challenging issues and for managing multiple issues to completion. This position requires resourcefulness, good judgment, persistence and follow through, the ability to influence and effectively challenge others, and strong leadership qualities. As a Director, you would be assigned the more complex, sensitive, and/or urgent risk issues. Typically someone in this position is responsible for a mixture of long-term initiatives, ad hoc requests and issues, and some ongoing Risk Management responsibilities, including a leadership role for some aspect of the Operational Risk Management (ORM) framework. In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the processes to ensure compliance with ORM reporting and procedures. The successful candidate will join a team of professionals who are responsible for:
o Conducting risk assessments of major business initiatives for assigned functions ensuring appropriate controls are implemented;
o Implementing aspects of the Operational Risk Management (ORM) Framework, including Risk and Control Self Assessments;
o Identifying, research, evaluation, and/or resolution of risk issues impacting the business, including conducting control reviews or gap analyses for existing processes, as needed;
o Partnering with the management and leadership in one part of the organization as a risk advisor for developing issues, new projects, and existing control gaps in the business;
o Liaison between the Business and Internal Audit for audits, and tracking the resulting issues and action plans until effective closure;
o Promoting of risk awareness and accountability throughout Annuities, to develop intelligent risk-taking skills.
The preferred experience for a successful candidate would include:
o Ability to demonstrate a high degree of initiative, curiosity and an eagerness to learn.
o Strong analytical skills including the ability to think critically and logically; creative problem solving and excellent decision-making skills.
o Ability to perform root cause analysis, identify trends and recommend corrective actions.
o Strong organizational skills including the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and bring them to resolution.
o Knowledge of applicable enterprise control standards and requirements (e.g., Model Risk Policies, End User Computing Requirements, etc.) preferred.
o Excellent communication skills and effective facilitator of group discussions.
o Strong team player; ability to partner across the organization and achieve results working through others.
o Control experience within a large financial institution is a plus. This includes, but is not limited to: auditing, compliance, operations management, or operational risk management or relevant experience in a business function.
o A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in a business major, and an MBA is a plus. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA, etc.) are also a plus.
o Working knowledge of laws and regulations governing Annuity products and distribution channels.
o Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio and Powerpoint.
o Project management skills a plus.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
